Bombay High Court

PHILIP ANTON PARMARversusTHE GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE, BOMBAY SUBRBAN MUMBAI AND ORS

Decided
Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The earlier order is superseded by the later eligibility order, and the writ petition is therefore disposed.

Summary

The petitioner challenged a 4 January 2018 order of the Grievance Redressal Committee that dismissed his appeal and held him ineligible. After that order, eviction proceedings were initiated, leading to a fresh inquiry and a subsequent order dated 8 June 2026 declaring the petitioner eligible. The court held that the later eligibility order superseded the earlier impugned order, rendering the writ petition moot. Consequently, the court disposed of the writ petition without further consideration. The court also noted that the interim applications filed alongside the petition are likewise disposed of.

Issues considered

  • Whether the earlier order of 4 January 2018 dismissing the appeal and holding the petitioner ineligible can be set aside in view of the later order of 8 June 2026 declaring the petitioner eligible
