Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with a direction to the trial court to decide the pending case expeditiously and to attempt mediation.

Summary

Petitioner Robina Khatoon filed a petition under Article 227 seeking supervisory intervention over a pending trial court case (Complaint Case No.984 of 2021). The petitioner later requested that the petition be treated as withdrawn, but asked the High Court to direct the trial court to decide the pending case promptly and to attempt amicable settlement through mediation. The Court considered the petitioner's request and the supervisory powers under Article 227. It held that the petition could be dismissed as withdrawn. Accordingly, the Court dismissed the petition and issued a direction to the trial court to decide the pending case expeditiously and to explore mediation between the parties.
