Holding
The court granted bail to the applicant, subject to conditions.
Summary
The High Court considered a bail application filed by Jayram, who was arrested in connection with Crime No. 98 of 2026 under several sections of the B.N.S. The applicant contended that he was falsely implicated, that the FIR named only unknown persons, and that no incriminating material or independent witnesses linked him to the alleged offence. The prosecution could not refute these contentions and the charge‑sheet had already been filed, rendering further custodial interrogation unnecessary. The court examined the seriousness of the charges, the risk of evidence tampering, and the applicant's lack of criminal antecedents. Weighing these factors, the court concluded that a prima facie case existed but that bail was appropriate with conditions to prevent tampering or intimidation. Consequently, the court granted bail on personal bond and sureties, subject to standard conditions.
