BHAGWAN DAS BARARversusMADHUP DWIVEDI DIVISIONAL RETAIL SALES HEAD

Decided

Holding

The contempt application was disposed of as the respondent had complied with the writ order and no cause of action remained.

Summary

The applicant, Bhagwan Das Barar, filed a contempt application against Madhup Dwivedi, a senior official of IOCL, alleging non‑compliance with a prior writ order dated 11 May 2026. The respondent appeared before the court and submitted an affidavit stating that the representation filed by the applicant had been decided and the writ order complied with. The court examined the affidavit and the accompanying order, finding that the respondent had indeed complied and that no cause of action remained. Consequently, the contempt application was disposed of, the notice issued on it was discharged, and any bailable warrants issued were nullified. The court directed that the applicant could seek remedy against the 11 May 2026 order in appropriate proceedings.
