Allahabad High Court

MUKESH KUMAR AND ANOTHERversusJAI SINGH JATAV AND 4 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

A civil revision valued below Rs.25 lakhs is not maintainable before this Court and must be dismissed.

Summary

The petitioners, Mukesh Kumar and another, filed a civil revision in the Allahabad High Court challenging a lower court order. The revision was valued at less than Rs.25 lakhs, which under the applicable procedural rules makes it non‑maintainable before the High Court. The court, relying on the office report, held that the revision could not be entertained due to the valuation ceiling. The petitioners were allowed to withdraw the revision and were given liberty to file a fresh revision in the appropriate forum. The respondent’s counsel, Shivangi Nanda, raised no objection, and the court dismissed the revision as withdrawn, ordering the return of certified copies of the documents.
