Allahabad High Court

MARKANDEY PRASAD PANDEY AND 7 OTHERSversusSTATE OF UP AND 4 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The court held that the two writ petitions should be connected and ordered a fresh admission of the present petition.

Summary

Petitioners filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition and later moved an application to implead the first informant as a respondent. The State, represented by the Advocate General, highlighted that another writ petition (Criminal Misc. Writ Petition No. 3547 of 2026, Mewati Devi v. State of U.P.) arising from the same crime number was pending before the same court. The court ordered that the two writ petitions be connected and that the present petition be re‑listed for fresh admission on 13‑03‑2026. It directed that the details of the connected petition be published in the cause list and that any interim orders previously granted remain in force until the next hearing.
