Allahabad High Court

VARUN KAUSHIKversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER

Decided

Holding

The revision petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

Summary

The petitioners filed a criminal revision before the Allahabad High Court challenging an order dated 31.01.2024 of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ghaziabad, which had affirmed a lower court's decision granting maintenance of Rs.20,000 per month to the wife under Section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The revision sought to set aside the maintenance award. During the hearing, counsel for the petitioner informed the court that the matrimonial dispute between the parties had been settled and that the petitioner wished to withdraw the petition. The court noted the petitioner's request to withdraw. Consequently, the High Court dismissed the revision petition as withdrawn. No further substantive adjudication on the merits was made.
