Allahabad High Court
DHANVEER SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER
- Decided
- Bench
- PRASHANT MISHRA I
Holding
The Court directed the trial court to decide the pending criminal case expeditiously and not to grant unnecessary adjournments.
Summary
The applicant, Dhanveer Singh, filed an application under Section 529 of the Criminal Procedure Code seeking an expeditious disposal of his criminal complaint (No. 21 of 2023) involving alleged offences under Sections 420, 504 and 506 of the IPC, pending before the Judicial Magistrate, Sadabad. The applicant argued that the case, filed in 2023, had not yet reached a conclusion and required speedy resolution. The State, represented by the Additional Government Advocate, raised no objection to the expeditious disposal and indicated that issuing notice to the second opposite party would serve no useful purpose. The Court, after hearing counsel, directed the trial court to decide the matter without unnecessary adjournments, provided there is no legal impediment. Accordingly, the application was disposed of with the direction for prompt trial‑court action.
