The High Court directed the trial court to decide the pending case expeditiously, preferably within six months, and disposed of the application.
Summary
The applicant, Yunish Kumar, filed an application under Section 529 seeking the High Court’s intervention for the speedy disposal of his pending criminal complaint (Case No. 1187 of 2018) before the Civil Judge (F.T.C.) in Firozabad. The applicant argued that the case had been lingering without reaching a conclusion, and requested that the trial court decide the matter within 15 days under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The State’s Additional Government Advocate raised no objection to the applicant’s modest prayer. The High Court, after hearing counsel, directed the trial court to endeavour to decide the case expeditiously, preferably within six months of the order, provided there is no legal impediment and without unnecessary adjournments. The application was consequently disposed of with the said direction.
