Allahabad High Court
RATAN RAJ SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P.

Holding
The Court allowed the applicant to apply for regular bail within four weeks and ordered a stay on any coercive action during that period, disposing of the anticipatory bail application.
Summary
Ratan Raj Singh applied for anticipatory bail under Section 482 CrPC, which was rejected by the Sessions Judge. He then sought permission to appear before the concerned court and apply for regular bail, requesting protection from any coercive action during the interim. The State opposed the request, but the opposing counsel raised no objection to the prayer. The High Court directed that if the applicant files a regular bail application within four weeks, it shall be considered independently of the earlier rejection, and no coercive action shall be taken against him under the specified IPC and Criminal Law Amendment Act provisions during that period. The anticipatory bail application was consequently disposed of.
