Allahabad High Court

CHANDAN YADAVversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 4 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with liberty granted to the petitioner to file a fresh petition.

Summary

The petitioner, Chandan Yadav, filed a public interest litigation before the Allahabad High Court seeking relief on certain grievances. After hearing, the petitioner’s counsel requested to withdraw the writ petition and asked for liberty to file a fresh petition with more detailed particulars, attaching relevant supporting material. The State of Uttar Pradesh and other respondents, through their standing counsel, raised no objection to the withdrawal. The court considered the procedural propriety of allowing a petition to be withdrawn and the permission to re‑file. Accordingly, the court dismissed the present petition as withdrawn and granted the petitioner liberty to file a fresh petition. The order was pronounced by Justice Arun Kumar on 23 September 2026.
