Allahabad High Court

SHIV POOJAN RAMversusSTATE OF U.P.

Decided

Holding

The court ordered the petitioner to file the certified copy of the revision and directed the respondent to decide the pending departmental revision within a stipulated period.

Summary

The petitioner, Shiv Poojan Ram, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Principal Secretary, Department of Finance & Revenue, U.P., to decide a departmental revision dated 24 July 2013 filed under Rule 13 of the U.P. Government Servant (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1999. The court allowed the standing counsel time to present facts on the pendency of the revision, but no material was filed. In the interest of justice, the court disposed of the petition, ordering the petitioner to submit a certified copy of the order and the revision document to the respondent within two weeks. The respondent was directed to decide the revision expeditiously, preferably within two months, or to communicate any prior decision immediately. The order thus seeks to enforce timely administrative action on the pending revision.
