Holding

The petition was disposed as the matter was pending before the authorities per the instructions dated 14-04-2026.

Summary

Gautam Kumar filed a writ petition seeking either appointment on compassionate grounds as a Home Guard volunteer or a monetary assistance of Rs.5,00,000 to his mother. The petition was heard before Hon'ble Justice Prakash Padia. The Court recorded instructions dated 14-04-2026 from the Deputy Commandant General, which indicated that the matter was still pending before the authorities and that the eligible dependents of a deceased Home Guard would be considered for compassionate appointment and financial assistance. No substantive order on the merits was made, and the petitioner was directed to await the pending administrative action.
