Allahabad High Court

DEEP SACHANversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as not maintainable because an alternative remedy under the applicable regulations exists.

Summary

Petitioner Deep Sachan challenged a punishment order dated 17‑01‑2026 that withheld two annual salary increments. The petitioner filed a writ petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking relief from the disciplinary action. Respondents, including the State of U.P. and the Power Corporation, argued that the petitioner had an alternative remedy under the U.P. Power Corporation Limited Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Regulations, 2020. The petitioner did not contest this submission. The Court held that the writ petition was not maintainable because the statutory appeal mechanism was available, and consequently dismissed the petition.
