Allahabad High Court

CHANDRASEN AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 15 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court directed the Deputy Director of Consolidation, Azamgarh to decide the pending revision within four months, thereby disposing of the writ petition.

Summary

Petitioners Chandrasen and another filed a writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the Deputy Director of Consolidation, Azamgarh to decide Revision No. 3191 of 2024 (Esimdar v. Jamaluddin) filed under Section 48(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Consolidation (U.P.C.H.) Act. The Standing Counsel for the State raised no objection to the direction. The High Court, noting that continued delay served no useful purpose, ordered the Deputy Director to pass a reasoned and speaking order on the revision within four months of the certified copy of the order, without unnecessary adjournments. The Court disposed of the writ petition without commenting on the merits of the underlying revision case. The order was signed by Justice Dinesh Pathak on 19 March 2026.
