The High Court directed the Board of Revenue to decide the pending revision within six months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of the order.
Summary
The petitioner, Keshav Prashad, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Board of Revenue, Prayagraj, to expedite the hearing of Revision No. 2217 of 2025. The revision had been heard twice, on 6 June 2025 and 18 August 2025, but no final order was passed, and a further hearing was fixed for 25 May 2026. The petitioner argued that the matter was being unduly adjourned without justification and requested a fixed time‑frame for disposal. The High Court, after hearing counsel for both sides, directed the Board of Revenue to decide the revision within six months of receiving a certified copy of the order. The writ petition was consequently disposed with the said direction.

HON'BLE ARUN KUMAR, J.
1. Heard Sri Anand Kumar holding brief of Sri Bhriguram Ji Pandey,
learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for
the respondent nos. 1 to 4.
2. The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction
to the respondent no. 2, Board of Revenue at Prayagraj to expedite the
hearing of Revision No. 2217 of 2025, pending before it.

18.8.2025, the counsel for the parties were heard and the matter was
reserved for orders. However, a perusal of the order, dated 23.3.2026,
annexed alongwith the supplementary affidavit filed today in Court,
shows that respondent no. 2 has again fixed 25.5.2026, as the next date,
for hearing on the admission of the revision, summoning the records of
the court below.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that twice the matter was
heard but no orders were passed admitting or rejecting the revision filed
