Allahabad High Court

RIYASATversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 7 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The Court directs respondent No. 8 to decide the pending revision within four months of the order’s certification, after hearing all parties.

Summary

The petitioner Riyasat filed a writ petition seeking a court direction to respondent No. 8 to decide Revision No. 2 of 1991‑92, which had been restored to the file by a previous order of this Court dated 25‑Oct‑2024. The revision had been originally disposed of by the Board of Revenue on 11‑May‑2006, but that order was set aside in Writ‑B No. 36297 of 2006, mandating fresh consideration. Despite the restoration, the respondents have not pursued the revision for about two years. The Court noted the innocuous nature of the prayer and the delay, and therefore ordered the respondent to decide the revision within four months of receiving a certified copy of the order, after hearing all concerned parties. The petition was disposed with the said direction.
