The Court ordered the respondent to decide the pending case within three months, directing expeditious disposal.
Summary
The petitioners, Sahatu (deceased) and five others, filed a writ petition before the Allahabad High Court seeking a direction to the second respondent, a Gaon Sabha, to decide Case No. 730 of 2014 under Section 219 of the Uttar Pradesh Zila Adalat & Land Revenue Act, 1950. The petitioners alleged that the case had been pending since 2014 due to undue delay by the respondent. The Court examined the claim of inordinate delay in adjudicating the matter. It held that the respondent must pass an appropriate order on the pending case after hearing the parties. Consequently, the Court directed the respondent to decide the case within three months of receiving the certified copy of the order. The petition was disposed with the said direction.
