Bail was granted to the petitioner subject to a bond and conditions under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Summary

Mukesh Rai was named in an FIR for allegedly attempting to snatch a vehicle and its key along with four other accused, invoking IPC sections 341, 342, 504, 420, 386 and 387/34. He pleaded that he was falsely implicated due to village politics, had no criminal antecedent and posed no risk of absconding or tampering with evidence. The State opposed his bail application. The court examined the nature of the allegation, the petitioner's clean record and the likelihood of interference with the investigation. Finding no substantial reason to deny liberty, the court ordered his release on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties, subject to conditions under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and directed surrender within six weeks.
