Holding
The contempt petition is dismissed for non‑prosecution as the petitioner did not appear or intend to pursue the relief.
Summary
The petitioner, Shivaji Dinkarrao Jadhav, filed a contempt petition (Contempt Petition No. 209 of 2014) challenging an interim order dated 30 April 2010 passed in Writ Petition No. 3971 of 2010. The petition was scheduled for hearing, but the petitioner failed to appear even after a second call, and his counsel was also absent. The Court noted that the petition was effectively abandoned by the petitioner. Since the petitioner expressed no intention to proceed, the Court treated the filing as a non‑prosecution. Accordingly, the contempt petition was dismissed. The order was pronounced by a two‑judge bench of the Bombay High Court, Aurangabad Bench, on 18 March 2026.
