The Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities must decide the pending proposal for inclusion in the Sevarth Pranali within four weeks of the Court's order.
Summary
The New Education Society filed a writ petition alleging that the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Maharashtra, had not acted on a recommendation dated 15 November 2024 to include its employees in the "Sevarth Pranali" scheme, causing loss of monetary benefits. The petitioners had been appointed following due procedure and their names were forwarded by the Zilla Parishad and the Regional Deputy Commissioner, Social Welfare, for inclusion. More than a year had elapsed without any decision, prompting the petitioners to seek a time‑bound direction. The Court examined the procedural history and found no justification for the delay. It directed the Commissioner to decide the pending proposal within four weeks of the order, and disposed of the writ petition.
