The petitioner, Arjun Jalaba Morea, was appointed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). He filed a writ petition seeking direction that he be absorbed into regular government service. The Court examined whether a person appointed solely for a scheme can be regularised.
