Decided

Holding

The college must declare the petitioner’s result forthwith and permit revaluation within the extended period.

Summary

Akhil Kumar Jain, a student of the Children Welfare Centre’s College of Law, filed a writ petition seeking a direction for the college to declare his Semester III results and to allow him to apply for revaluation beyond the stipulated 10‑day window. The petitioner alleged that the college had not declared his result, thereby denying him the opportunity to seek revaluation. The college’s principal appeared and assured that, if ordered, the result would be declared immediately. The High Court directed the college to declare the petitioner’s result on the day of the order and permitted the petitioner to apply for revaluation and obtain a photocopy of the result by the following day. The petition was thereafter disposed of without any order as to costs.

Issues considered
