Bombay High Court

VANDANA LIMBARAO INGLEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The petition is dismissed as there is nothing left to adjudicate after the filing of the summary report.

Summary

The petitioner, Vandana Limbarao Ingle, filed a criminal writ petition seeking the court’s intervention to ensure effective investigation into two offences, Crime No.27/2019 and Crime No.72/2019, alleged to have been committed in Satara. The State filed a miscellaneous application (M.A. No.2282/2021) to accept a “B” summary report for Crime No.72/2019, and the petitioner was noted to be absent, leading to the issuance of a bailable warrant against her. The court observed that the summary report had already been filed and that the investigation on the matters was apparently concluded. Consequently, the court held that there was no remaining issue for adjudication in the petition. The petition was therefore disposed of with no further relief granted.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioner’s criminal writ petition for direction to conduct effective investigation into Crime No.27/2019 and Crime No.72/2019 is maintainable after a summary report has been filed.

959 CRIMINAL WRIT PETITION NO. 491 OF 2019

                 VANDANA LIMBARAO INGLE
                           VERSUS

                   None for the petitioner.

CORAM : SANDIPKUMAR C. MORE AND
                        VAISHALI PATIL-JADHAV, JJ.

                DATED : 22 JULY 2026.

Per Court :

1. None for the petitioner.

2. Pursuant to the order dated 29.06.2026, learned A.P.P.

placed on record communication dated 22.07.2026 mentioning

that M.A. No. 2282/2021 was in fact filed by the State to

accept “B” Summary report in Crime No. 72/2019 of Satara

Khandoba Police Station, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The

communication further indicates that the complainant i.e. the

present petitioner remained absent, and therefore, bailable

warrant was also issued against her and next date of the said

Misc. Application is kept on 05.09.2026.

3. Be that as it may, but the present petition is for carrying

out the effective investigation in two crimes i.e. Crime

No.27/2019 and Crime No.72/2019. Thus, it appears that

                                             959 Cri.WP-491.2026.odt
after due investigation “B” Summary reports are filed.

4. As such, nothing survives in this petition at this juncture

and the same stands disposed of.
