The writ petition is dismissed as infructuous because the order sought has already been issued.
Summary
The petitioner, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Samajik Vikas Sanstha, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the State of Maharashtra to release grants and rent for a backward girls’ hostel it runs. The State’s Attorney General indicated that an order on the matter had already been issued on 2 January 2026. The Court observed that because the order had already been passed, the petition no longer had any live issue. Consequently, the petition was held to be infructuous and was disposed of. The Court noted that the petitioner remains free to challenge the 2 January 2026 order through any appropriate legal remedy if aggrieved.
