Holding
The High Court directed the Additional Civil Judge (S.D.) Mirzapur to decide the pending complaint within three months, thereby ensuring a time‑bound disposal.
Summary
Petitioner Chandrakeshav Prasad Mishra filed a petition under Article 227 seeking a direction to the Additional Civil Judge (S.D.) Mirzapur to expedite the pending complaint case No. 659/2023 filed under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The petitioner argued that the complaint, filed in April 2023, had remained unresolved for an extended period, violating the principle of speedy justice. The High Court examined the delay and the need for a time‑bound disposal of criminal complaints. Considering the circumstances, the Court directed the trial court to decide the complaint within three months of receiving a certified copy of the order. The petition was consequently disposed with the specified direction.
