Summary
Amit Jain filed a writ petition under Article 227 seeking a direction to the District Redressal Consumer Disputes Commission, Muzaffar Nagar, to decide the pending consumer case (Case No. 12 of 2022) against Chola Mandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd. The petitioner argued that the consumer case was pending and required expeditious disposal. The Court observed that keeping the writ petition pending served no useful purpose while the consumer case remained unresolved. Consequently, the Court disposed of the writ petition and directed the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to decide the case within one and a half years, without unnecessary adjournments, subject to any legal impediment. The order was pronounced on May 6, 2026.
