The High Court directed the District & Sessions Judge, Varanasi to decide the pending criminal revision within six months.
Summary
The petitioner, Geeta Devi, filed a petition under Article 227 seeking a direction to the District & Sessions Judge, Varanasi, to decide a pending criminal revision (Nigrani No.534 of 2025) within a stipulated period. The petitioner argued that the revisionist, Kamlesh Patel, had caused undue delay since 2025. The High Court, after considering the facts and the petitioner's counsel, ordered that the district court decide the revision within six months of receiving a certified copy of the order. No substantive merits of the revision were addressed; the focus was on ensuring timely disposal. The petition was consequently disposed with the specified direction.
