Allahabad High Court

ANURADHA CHAUHANversusSHAKUN AND ANOTHER

Decided

Holding

The High Court directed the Civil Judge (Junior Division) District Mirzapur to decide the pending suit expeditiously and disposed of the writ petition.

Summary

The petitioner filed a writ petition under Article 227 seeking a direction to the Civil Judge (Junior Division) of District Mirzapur to decide Original Suit No. 235 of 2021 (Balmukund vs Shakun and others) expeditiously. The High Court noted that the suit was already pending and that keeping the writ petition alive would serve no useful purpose. Consequently, the Court disposed of the writ petition and issued a directive to the lower court to decide the suit as quickly as possible, without unnecessary adjournments, subject to any legal impediment. No notices were issued to the respondents. The order was pronounced by Justice Vikas Budhwar on May 6, 2026.
