Allahabad High Court

RITIK @ RITIK SINGHversusSTATE OF U.P.

Decided

Holding

The bail application is allowed.

Summary

The applicant, Ritik Singh, was arrested on 21 June 2026 in connection with a case registered as Crime No. 302 of 2026, alleging offences under sections 305(A), 317(2), 318(4) and 3(5). He contended that the recovery of alleged incriminating material from his possession was false, there were no independent public witnesses, and he had been falsely implicated. The State opposed bail but did not dispute the applicant's claim of lack of evidence. The Court, after reviewing the record and the nature of the allegations, decided that the case was suitable for bail without expressing any view on the merits. Accordingly, the bail application was allowed subject to a personal bond, two sureties and conditions restricting tampering with evidence and criminal activity. The Court clarified that its observations were limited to the bail application and would not affect the trial's merits.
