Holding
The court granted bail to the applicant subject to a personal bond, two sureties and standard conditions.
Summary
Rojid Ansari applied for bail in a criminal case (Crime No. 588 of 2025) filed under several provisions of the U.P. Gangster and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986. He contended that the charges were false, stemming from police rivalry, and that he had already been granted bail in related gang‑chart cases. The State, represented by the Advocate General, opposed the bail. The High Court, without delving into the merits, permitted the bail application, directing the applicant to furnish a personal bond and two sureties, and imposing conditions not to tamper with evidence, intimidate witnesses, and to appear before the trial court. The court also ordered verification of the identity, status, and residence of the applicant and sureties before accepting the bonds. Breach of any condition would lead to cancellation of bail.
