Allahabad High Court

YOGESH MEENAversusSTATE OF U.P.

Decided

Holding

Bail was granted to the applicant on the ground of parity with a similarly situated co‑accused.

Summary

Yogesh Meena applied for bail in a criminal case (FIR No.158 of 2026) involving multiple offences under the BNS Act and the Criminal Law Amendment Act. The court considered the facts, the submissions of counsel, and noted that a co‑accused, Abhay, had already been granted bail in a similar case. The applicant's criminal history was explained, and the principle of parity with the co‑accused was invoked. The court found that the applicant had made out a case for bail and ordered his release on personal bond and two sureties, subject to standard conditions. The bail order emphasized that any breach of conditions would lead to cancellation and would not affect the trial on merits.
