Allahabad High Court

ANUPAM SHARMAversusRAM SHANKAR VERMA, DISTRICT PANCHAYAT RAJ OFFICER, FATEHPUR

Decided

Holding

The order does not constitute contempt; the contempt application is dismissed.

Summary

The applicant, Anupam Sharma, filed a contempt application alleging that the respondent, District Panchayat Raj Officer Ram Shankar Verma, had failed to comply with a transfer order dated 22.05.2025. The writ court, in its order dated 13.08.2025 in Writ‑A No.11613 of 2025, directed the standing counsel to obtain instructions and indicated that the petitioner would be relieved if he had not yet joined the new post. The High Court observed that the order merely granted time for clarification and that the matter remained pending before the writ court, thus no contempt had occurred. The applicant further contended that the case had not been heard since the 13.08.2025 order. Consequently, the court dismissed the contempt application.
