SHAH FAISHALversusSHRI JOGENDRA KUMAR, COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

Decided

Holding

The court recorded the contempt application and placed it on the record pending further steps.

Summary

Shah Faishal filed a contempt petition against the Commissioner of Police alleging failure to comply with an order issued in Civil Misc. Writ Petition No. 52588 of 2014 (Razeena Bano & Another v. State of U.P. and others). The petitioner produced an FIR dated 30 September 2026 to support the allegation, and the court noted that the FIR was not contested by the petitioner’s counsel. The court directed that a copy of the instructions accompanying the FIR be served on the petitioner’s counsel. No substantive hearing on the merits of the contempt claim was conducted. The application was therefore consigned to the record for further consideration, and the instructions were taken on record as Appendix‑A.
