SMT. SHAKUNTLA SINGHversusMANISH KUMAR VERMA DISTRICT MAGISTRATE

Decided

Holding

The court held that the writ court’s order was substantially complied with, so the contempt petition was dismissed.

Summary

Smt. Shakuntla Singh filed a contempt petition against the District Magistrate alleging failure to comply with the order dated 31.05.2022 passed in Writ A No. 18331 of 2022, which required the magistrate to consider her application. The magistrate produced, for the first time, a copy of an order dated 12.10.2022 that decided the representation. The court examined whether the magistrate’s actions amounted to contempt.
