Allahabad High Court

RAVINDRA RAJBHARversusMR. ANISH SINGH ASSISTANT COLLECTOR/TEHSILDAR, TEHSIL-MOHAMMADABAD GOHNA

Decided

Holding

The contempt application was dismissed as infructuous because the writ court order had been complied with.

Summary

The applicant, Ravindra Rajbhar, filed a contempt application against Assistant Collector/Tehsildar Anish Singh after a writ court order dated 23 April 2025 required certain action. The Tehsildar complied with the writ order, and the related application for restoration was decided on 23 March 2026, as evidenced by an affidavit and annexure filed in court. The standing counsel argued that since the writ order had been fulfilled, there was no basis for contempt. The court held that the contempt application was therefore infructuous and dismissed it. Consequently, the bailable warrant issued in the contempt proceeding was discharged.
