The Court did not issue a notice but granted the opposite party time to comply and disposed of the contempt application pending compliance.
Summary
Gautam Sharma filed a contempt application against Geeta Chaudhary, alleging willful defiance of a September 24, 2025 order of this Court in Writ‑A No.14499 of 2025. The applicant claimed that despite service of a certified copy, the opposite party had not complied with the writ order. The Court found a prima facie case for contempt but, instead of issuing a notice, granted the opposite party four weeks to comply from the date of production of the certified copy. The Court directed the applicant to provide stamped envelopes for service of the order and a copy of the contempt application, and ordered the Court to forward these to the opposite party within a week. The opposite party was further directed to comply with the writ order and inform the applicant within a week thereafter, with a further opportunity for the applicant to approach the Court if compliance fails. The contempt application was therefore disposed of at this stage.
Issues considered
