Allahabad High Court

SHRI SHAQIBversusSHRI SANJAY KUMAR MEENA, CHIEF EXEUTIVE OFFICER

Decided

Holding

The court did not find the opposite party in contempt and instead granted further time for compliance, disposing of the contempt application at this stage.

Summary

The applicant filed a contempt application alleging that the opposite party willfully disobeyed the High Court's judgment and order dated 28‑01‑2026 in Writ‑C No. 2800 of 2026. The court noted that a prima facie case of contempt existed but, consistent with procedural law, it did not issue a notice at this stage. Instead, the court granted the opposite party an additional four months to comply with the original order, subject to the applicant providing stamped envelopes for service. The court directed that the order and contempt application be sent to the opposite party within a week of receipt of the envelopes, and that the opposite party must comply and inform the applicant within a further week. If compliance is not achieved, the applicant may approach the court again. The contempt application was therefore disposed of pending compliance.
