Allahabad High Court

BUDHRAM AND ANOTHERversusCHARCHIT GAUR, COLLECTOR / CHAIRMAN, DISTRICT LEVEL COMMITTEE

Decided

Holding

The court held that the contempt application is dismissed pending the opposite party’s compliance with the earlier order.

Summary

The applicant filed a contempt application alleging that the opposite party willfully disobeyed the judgment and order dated 28‑03‑2026 in Civil Misc. Writ Petition No. 9410 of 2026. The court noted that a prima facie case of contempt existed but, instead of issuing notice, it granted the opposite party an additional month to comply with the earlier order. The court directed the applicant to provide stamped envelopes for service of the order and contempt application, and instructed the court office to forward the documents to the opposite party. The opposite party was ordered to comply with the writ court’s directions and inform the applicant within a week of receipt. The court held that if compliance is not achieved, the applicant may approach the court again, and disposed of the contempt application at this stage.
