Allahabad High Court

SUDHIR KUMAR SINGHversusBHARTIYA MEENA

Decided

Holding

The contempt application was disposed of without initiating contempt proceedings, granting the opposite party additional time to comply with the original order.

Summary

The applicant, Sudhir Kumar Singh, filed a contempt application alleging that the opposite party, Bhartiya Meena, willfully disobeyed the High Court's judgment and order dated 21 May 2026 in Writ‑C No.42933 of 2025. The applicant claimed that despite being served a copy of the order, the opposite party had not complied with the directions. The court examined the prima facie case for contempt but, noting that no notice had been issued, chose to give the opposite party an additional three‑month period to comply. The court directed the applicant to provide stamped envelopes for service of the order and contempt application, and instructed the court office to forward these to the opposite party. The opposite party was ordered to comply with the writ court's directions and inform the applicant within a week of receipt. The court held that if compliance is not achieved, the applicant may approach the court again, and disposed of the contempt application at this stage.
