Holding
The court did not find contempt and disposed of the application, granting the opposite party further time to comply with the original order.
Summary
The applicant filed a contempt application alleging that the opposite party failed to comply with an order dated 17 July 2026 in PIL No. 1515/2026, which directed the opposite party to decide a claim. The court examined the allegation and found that a prima facie case of willful disobedience existed, but noted that no notice had been issued to the opposite party. Consequently, the court granted the opposite party six weeks from the production of a certified copy of the order to comply, and directed the applicant to provide stamped envelopes for service. The court also ordered that the opposite party must inform the applicant of compliance within a week of doing so. The application was disposed of at this stage, leaving open the possibility of a fresh contempt proceeding if compliance is not achieved.
