Allahabad High Court

KETAN PATELversusSTATE OF U.P. AND ANOTHER

Decided

Holding

The appeal is dismissed as not pressed.

Summary

The appellant, Ketan Patel, filed a criminal appeal under Section 14‑A(2) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, challenging a bail order dated 03‑04‑2026 passed by the Special Judge (SC/ST Act) in Jhansi. The appeal arose from a bail application (Criminal Misc. Bail Application No. 442 of 2026) in a case registered under Section 64 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3(2)(V) of the SC/ST Act. Counsel for the appellant argued that the prayer in the appeal was defective and that a better petition would be filed. The State, represented by the Additional Government Advocate, opposed the submission. The High Court examined the records and found that the appeal had not been properly pressed. Consequently, the Court dismissed the appeal as not pressed.
