Summary
The appellant, Attaullah Khan, filed a criminal appeal (No. 451 of 1985) before the Allahabad High Court. The court, upon compliance with its earlier order dated 16‑03‑2021, received a report from the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pilibhit, confirming that the appellant had died approximately 24 years earlier. The report was supported by witness statements, a certificate issued by a relevant authority, and a death certificate. Since the appellant was deceased, the court held that the appeal could not proceed. Consequently, the petition was abated and the appeal dismissed.
