Allahabad High Court

RENU RAI AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

Summary

The petitioners, Renu Rai and another, filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition before the Allahabad High Court challenging the proceedings against them. During the hearing, the petitioners’ counsel informed the court that the investigation was already completed, a charge‑sheet had been filed, and cognizance had been taken, and that they no longer wished to pursue the writ. The State’s Additional Government Advocate raised no objection to the withdrawal. The court, accepting the petitioners’ statement and the lack of objection, dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn. Consequently, the petition was closed without any substantive adjudication on the merits.
