Allahabad High Court
ANKUR KUMARversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 4 OTHERS
- Decided
Holding
The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with liberty granted to the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum later.
Summary
The petitioner, Ankur Kumar, filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition before the Allahabad High Court challenging an investigation that had concluded with a final report favoring the accused on 12 April 2026. The State's Additional Government Advocate informed the court that the investigation was complete and the report was already submitted. The petitioner did not contest these facts and expressed a desire to withdraw the writ petition, reserving the right to approach the appropriate forum later. The court considered the petitioner's request to withdraw and the procedural propriety of dismissing a petition on such a basis. Accordingly, the court dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn, granting the petitioner liberty to approach the appropriate forum at a later stage.
