Allahabad High Court

VINAY KUMAR SACHAN AND 3 OTHERSversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 2 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with liberty granted to the petitioners to approach the appropriate forum later.

Summary

The petitioners, Vinay Kumar Sachan and three others, filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition in the Allahabad High Court challenging the filing of a charge sheet against them. The State had already completed the investigation and forwarded the charge sheet on 7 June 2026. The petitioners' counsel did not contest these facts but expressed a desire to withdraw the writ petition, stating they would approach the appropriate forum later if needed. The court noted the withdrawal request and, without addressing any substantive merits, dismissed the petition as withdrawn, granting the petitioners liberty to approach the appropriate forum at a later stage. The petition was therefore dismissed.
