Allahabad High Court

RAM BABU AND 4 OTHERSversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn upon the petitioner's request.

Summary

Ram Babu and four others filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition before the Allahabad High Court challenging the investigation and charge-sheet filed against them by the State of Uttar Pradesh. The State informed the Court that the investigation was complete and a charge-sheet had been filed on 19 June 2026. The petitioners did not contest these facts and instead expressed a desire to withdraw the writ petition, seeking liberty to approach the appropriate forum later. The Court, noting the petitioners' request, dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn, granting them the liberty to approach the appropriate forum at a later stage. The petition was thus dismissed without any substantive adjudication on the merits.
