Allahabad High Court

SALONI AND ANOTHERversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 3 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is disposed of as there is nothing left for adjudication after the final investigation report has been filed.

Summary

Petitioners Saloni and another filed a writ petition seeking a certiorari to quash FIR dated 24.07.2026 under Section 87 of BNS and a mandamus to prevent their arrest. The State, represented by the learned AGA, informed the court that the statutory investigation was completed and the investigating officer had submitted the final report on 18.08.2026, which was also forwarded to the concerned court. The petitioners, after hearing the AGA’s statement, agreed that there was no further ground for the petition. The Court, noting that the investigation was concluded and the final report filed, held that there was nothing left for adjudication. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of without any substantive order on the merits.
