Allahabad High Court

FAREED AHMADversusSTATE OF U.P. AND 6 OTHERS

Decided

Holding

The petition is dismissed because the FIR has already been lodged, leaving no matter for further adjudication.

Summary

The petitioner, Fareed Ahmad, filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the State and other respondents to comply with a July 17, 2026 order of the Chief Judicial Magistrate to register an FIR against certain individuals and to investigate the matter expeditiously. The State, represented by learned Additional Government Advocate S.K. Ojha, submitted that the FIR had already been lodged as per the magistrate’s order and that there was nothing further for the court to adjudicate. No counsel appeared for the petitioner. The Court examined the submissions and the record, noting that the FIR was indeed registered. Consequently, the Court found no basis to entertain the petition further. The writ petition was therefore dismissed.
