Decided

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

Summary

Muneer Ahmad filed a criminal miscellaneous writ petition before the Allahabad High Court challenging an action of the State of Uttar Pradesh and three other respondents. During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that the petitioner had already been arrested and no longer wished to pursue the writ, seeking to withdraw the petition. The State’s Additional Government Advocate and the counsel for one of the respondents did not oppose the withdrawal. The court, noting the petitioner’s clear intention to withdraw, dismissed the writ petition as withdrawn. No substantive merits of the petition were examined.
